At Trinity we celebrate God’s children in all of our beautiful forms. We open our hearts and church to all, regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, social status, political views, abilities, who we are or who we love. Together we strive to grow in love and joyfully serve God, our community and the whole of God’s creation. We make this journey together.
Since 2019, Trinity has been working together with ReconcilingWorks on our journey to become a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Congregation.
At our annual meeting in January 2019, Trinity voted to begin our Reconciling in Christ Journey, namely, to become a welcoming congregation for members of the LGBTQIA+ Community. We held Building and Inclusive Church training, shared resources, hosted guest speakers from our Synod and Boston PFLAG, collaborated with other RIC congregations in our area, held video viewing sessions with discussions, held an exploratory survey to gather input on where we stand, hosted a Lenten series on Building an Inclusive Church and have prayed faithfully throughout our journey.
The RIC team has finalized our welcoming statement, and it was approved at the December 2020 Church Council Meeting. At our Annual Meeting on January 31, 2021, we voted to publicly affirm our commitment to live as a Welcoming & Affirming community.
